1.0 Release

We are very pleased to announce the release of the 1.0 version of our Website, Margin and Extension for Firefox.  This is the culmination of many months of hard work and we are very excited to finally be able to offer it to the wider web.

This new version marks a complete transformation: a new website, margin, and social features we have added make Reframe It the best way to discuss the web with whom you choose. We’ve added comment sharing with email addresses, bookmarking, contact importation and a comment rating system to make Reframe It a truly online social experience while you browse the web.

We’ve designed a new website with an interface that will make finding and sorting comments a breeze.

The margin is completely revamped and features the following:

  • Three Views:
    • Proportional Stub View displays all of the comments for the page in one view. This enables you to quickly assess the location, age and overall rating of each comment at a glance.
    • One-to-One Stub View follows along as you read and only displays those comments referencing the particular section of the page you are currently reading.
    • List View displays all of the comments without regard to reference position and mimics “Comments at bottom” style of commenting commonly found on blogs.
  • Drag and Drop comment creation.  Drag any image, text, or link over to the margin (closed or open) to begin a comment on that item.
  • Keyboard shortcut to open and close the margin.  Control ? on PC and Linux and Command ? to toggle the margin open and close.
  • Comments can be shared with groups you are a member of you, your friends or directly to an email address.

The extension for Firefox (Internet Explorer will be available soon) can be downloaded at http://reframeit.com/download and a tutorial on using the margin can be found at http://reframeit.com/tutorial
